Anupriya Gupta wins Innovation through Collaboration grant

Anupriya was awarded the 2023 kynamatrix Research Network’s “Innovation through Collaboration” grants for projects in design, engineering, and computer science,  for her research topic “Creative collaboration in workplaces through conversational interfaces." Her thesis co-advisors are Dina El-zanfaly and Paul Pangaro.

MFI Grant for 'Mixed reality In-situ Welding'

Dina El-Zanfaly and Daragh Byrne (School of Architecture) have been awarded a grant from the Manufacturing Futures Institute (MF)I entitled “Mixed reality In-situ Welding: Integrating AR, tinyML and generative AI to train skilled workers for future opportunities in creative arts and manufacturing” The project will collaborate with the Industrial Arts Workshop in Pittsburgh.

Dina is named the Nierenberg Assistant Professor of Design

Our Lab Director, Dina El-Zanfaly, has been recently named the Nierenberg Assistant Professor of Design. The Nierenberg Chair was established in 1983 through a generous gift from the late Mr. Theodore D. Nierenberg and his wife, Martha. The Chair is one of the most prestigious appointments within design education in the United States, awarded to an outstanding individual who has achieved national or international prominence in design or a design-related field.
